Amazon Review

Website Review #1

Recently Amazon has unveiled a new look for their website, Amazon.com. The new website is a lot brighter with a white background and has more of round warm feeling. When searching for a product, the shopper is able to type the product name in the search box. When searching options appear in a drop down box below the search box. The drop down box is a great aspect to the site because it brings up the most popular searched products with those names, incase the shopper does not know 100% what they are looking for. Once the go button is pushed, a second page is opened with search results listed. The Amazon sponsored product with the shipping deals will be listed first, as it will encourage the shopper to use Amazon not an outside buyer, who sell on Amazon. Clicking on the item will bring the shopper to a third page that is laid out nicely. The image is large on the direct left with the title up top. The Add to Cart button is directly on the right side. The button is golden yellow and noticeable, and gives you options to adjust quantity before you even order. There is also a 1-click ordering option the Amazon has that removes the step of reviewing the cart, if you are a previous Amazon shopper. Once the “add to cart button” is pushed, the shopped is given the option to proceed to checkout with another golden yellow button. This is encouraging shoppers to make their purchase now, which is promoting impulse shopping. Overall the checkout process is fairly simple, especially if you are a previous Amazon shopper because all of you information is saved. Amazon keep the website consistent as the “place your order” button is also on the right side and is golden yellow. This consistency allows the shopper to know what they are looking for, and have an easier way to find it. Amazon is a widely used shopping site that is consumer friendly, as it is simplistic and streamline, and familiar to returning shoppers.
