Domains and Hosting

Domain Name: a memorable address used on the web. these are routed through dns servers which make sure the memorable address points to its IP address.

  • Network Solutions – register a domain name with any of the of the following extensions  .com .net .co .org .mobi .info .biz .tel .eu .co.uk .de .us .us.com .pro .eu.com .me .name .am .uk.com .de.com .bz .cc .gs .asia .xxx
    • Whois – find out who owns a domain name

Web Host: a place to put your files. A few basic things to consider; storage space, number of email accounts allowed, bandwidth limits, MySQL and PHP support, customer support,will they host multiple domains/ sub-domains, cost.
